Translation and Interpreting Service Translation types

Translation types

Unsworn translation

We provide document translation services for R&D&I projects (applications, reports, etc.); texts that are the result of scientific research carried out by members of the university community (scientific articles, book chapters, technical reports, monographs, etc.); as well as any other type of general or specialised text, including webpage localisation, advertising copy translation, audiovisual production subtitling, and more.

  • Approximate delivery deadlines: 20 working days; 7 working days for urgent requests.

Deadlines may be adjusted according to the characteristics of the text (length, degree of difficulty, etc.) and the availability of the service. The process will begin the day after receiving proof of payment of 50% of the total, of the entirety of the request, or the corresponding funds reservation.

Sworn translation

Sworn translations are signed and stamped by a sworn translator, appointed to that effect by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Spain. These translations tend to be necessary for administrative procedures before the public administration, including the university. Sworn translations may be required for very different types of documents such as the following, for example: academic transcripts, university or education (non-university) degrees, birth certificates, contracts, deeds, wills, medical reports, or others.

  • Approximate delivery deadlines: 15 working days; 7 working days for urgent requests.

Deadlines may be adjusted according to the characteristics of the text (length, degree of difficulty, etc.) and the availability of the service. The process will begin the day after receiving proof of payment of 50% of the total, of the entirety of the request, or the corresponding funds reservation.

Revision

All the translation services we offer (except sworn translation) will be revised by another professional who is a native speaker of the target language before final delivery to the requestor. This guarantees the quality of both the target text (translated document) as well as the translation itself. This service is only offered for texts translated by our professionals.

  • Approximate delivery deadlines: 10 working days; 7 working days for urgent requests.

Deadlines may be adjusted according to the characteristics of the text (length, degree of difficulty, etc.) and the availability of the service. The process will begin the day after receiving proof of payment of 50% of the total, of the entirety of the request, or the corresponding funds reservation.

Proofreading

The university community also has the possibility of having their texts proofread before the final submission for publication. This includes orthotypographical proofreading of the text, to which the requestor can also add style correction or a partial restructuring of the text, always according to the interested party’s wishes. To offer quality service, all proofreading requests are subject to prior evaluation by our professionals, who may require the requestor to submit a version of the work in the original language or advise a complete translation of the submitted text.
