THE ONLY SPANISH WOMAN TO WIN TWO OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS!
\nEffort, sacrifice and perseverance are some of the qualities that Theresa Zabell<\/a>\u00a0needed to achieve this impressive record. Once her competing career was over, she applied these values to her personal life, to her family and to her Foundation. Even now, twenty years later, she is still the only Spanish woman to have accomplished this feat.<\/p>\n

“Being a woman is a state, a challenge, a condition, but above all a privilege, especially now in the 21st century. I’ve always felt as though I’ve been swimming against the tide, but now I think the tide is turning and the current is moving in our favour”.<\/p>\n

\nWinner of the International Sailing Federation’s World Sailor of the Year award, she also holds the Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Sports Merit and the Olympic Order.
