Conference Venue<\/h3>\n

The congress will be held at University of Malaga’s Rectorate <\/strong>located in the Park of Malaga, next to the Bank of Spain and the Palacio de la Aduana. It was the Old Post Office building (Antiguo Edificio de Correos) and built between 1916 and 1923 with the idea of furthering communications. Due to space limitations, Correos left the property in 1986, and the University of M\u00e1laga bought it in 1993.<\/p>\n

It is a neo-Mudejar style building. The corners of the main fa\u00e7ade are rounded with projecting towers of curved shapes that form a uniquely styled roof. Under this building, remains of the Phoenician wall of Malaga dating from the third and fourth centuries BC and other elements such as Roman garum (fish paste) pools that are visible inside have been found. It is in this same space, where the rooms for the numerous exhibitions held there are located.<\/p>\n

This is a decorative building that has managed throughout to keep a balance between aesthetics and functionality, despite the fact that the latter was the prevailing consideration.<\/p>\n
