DIALOGUE on innovation and sport with Lorena Torres<\/span><\/h2>\n

Have you ever had a conversation with an NBA star?<\/p>\n

Lorena Torres<\/strong>\u00a0holds a PhD in Sports Science. She is a researcher with more than 50 indexed articles and a specialist in high performance sports. She currently coordinates the Performance Area of the Men\u00b4s Basketball National Team<\/strong>. She previously played in the NBA<\/strong>: was signed by Philadelphia 76ers<\/em> as a leadership figure, and spent two years with this team. She worked during four years, as Performance Manager with the San\u00a0Antonio Spurs<\/em>\u00a0of Texas \u2013 which has five NBA championship rings \u2013\u00a0\u00a0 applying sports science to improve the performance of the players.<\/p>\n

As an expert in high performance sports through technology, who has worked with such personalities as Ona Carbonell, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Pau Gasol himself, she states: \u201cWe must reach the point where technology is neither felt, nor seen, nor noticed, nor annoying. <\/strong>\u00a0It\u00b4s not worth for the player to have all information about insoles if he doesn\u00b4t have the \u201cfeeling\u201d of contact with his shoe. There must be a compromise between benefit and cost\u201d.<\/p>\n

She was a synchronized swimmer, responsible for the training of Barcelona\u00b4s youth teams, professor at the universities of Vic and Lleida and a star in many media:\u00a0El Pa\u00eds<\/a>,\u00a0El Confidencial<\/a>,\u00a0Marca<\/a>,\u00a0Gigantes del Basket<\/a>,\u00a0As<\/a>\u2026 You will be able to chat with her at our next Dialogando<\/p>\n

She is the director of Player Performance at You Firts,<\/em> researcher (with more than 50 publications in indexed journals), editor of the book Essential of Sport Science<\/em> (Human Kinetics, NSCA) and a specialist in high performance sports.<\/p>\n
