DIALOGUE WITH Ousman Umar

DIALOGUE on irregular migration with Ousman Umar

On Thursday 5 March 2020, we had Ousman Umar, president of the Nasco Feeding Minds NGO, in our DIALOGUE series with a “DIALOGUE on irregular migration.”

When he was just 12 years old, Ousman embarked a dangerous journey from Ghana to Spain. A victim of human trafficking, he journeyed through the desert and risked his life crossing the sea in a small boat. Aware of his good fortune, in 2012 he created NASCO Feeding Minds, which aims to train young people in new technologies to prevent them from being forced to risk their lives as he did. In just 13 years, he has gone from being illiterate to enrolling in a Master’s degree at ESADE, running his own foundation, and giving talks worldwide. Ousman considers himself a survivor and is living proof that by nurturing minds, we can change history.
